Lara Prideaux
May 2025
Lara Prideaux (b 2001, London, United Kingdom) is an interdisciplinary artist based in the Dingle Peninsula, Ireland. Her work is process lead, allowing her to enter into conversation with material. This work takes abstract form in its painted, sculpted colours and shapes as it becomes an exploration of the spaces we occupy that are outside categorisation or strict definition. In this process, she prioritises experience over understanding in order to deepen engagement.
Currently, she is working on how we may gain a deeper knowledge of the ‘other’, and intersubjectively ourselves, when we aim to maximise our experience of it/them rather than try to categorically understand it/them. She has exhibited in Dublin, Ireland, Sarzana, Italy and Athens, Greece.
