Leukefeld graduated from art colleges in London, concluding her studies with a master degree in 1998. Her resent research is based on an essay by Immanuel Kant on the supposed right to lie and why lying is morally forbidden.
Leukefeld has been preoccupied with this topic since Boris Johnson's blatant lies during the Brexit campaign in the UK, while the US term “fake news” has become common place and contributed to the smear campaigns that, for example the Green Party in Germany found themselves exposed to. The artist will further dive into the subject matter during the residency at Keramikos23.

During her residency in Athens, the artist Lara Prideaux developed her work around the theme of otherness. In addition to her ongoing exploration of the fundamental otherness of being, Lara has been exploring an experience of the differences of culture and language here in Athens. Her abstract paintings become a conversation, free of visual borders, about listening rather than categorising or alienating. Her painted forms further become an exploration of what she intersubjectively learns about herself through this mode of engagement.

In their work in progress entitled Still / A / Life, Catherine Ludwig and Cornelia Mittendorfer are concerned with the study of what is natural and artificial in a world where no nature is left without been shaped by human intervention. Through their individual and collaborative works, they raise questions, indirectly, in a playful and humorous manner, related to the fragile interface between naturalness and artificiality, the imprudent consumption of our times, which has led gradually to the impasse of the ecological crisis. They also refer to the possible end of human life on the planet and to the decisions that each of us makes that determine our quality of life. In Athens they continue their investigations in its eco-socially challenged environment.
